Warmer Patio With The Right Heater

By: Kenny F Leichester

There are many benefits of having outdoor patio heaters. Outdoor heaters have come a long way since their appearance in restaurants and pubs. More are finding them useful so they began to search for the best ones of their own. Before you buy yours, there are a few things you need to know before choosing a one. Here are some useful tips for you.
SPACE
When choosing a patio heater, it is best to survey the area where your heater will be placed. Will you want to mount it on a wall, keep it at the center of a table, or move it depending on the occasion? The kind of space where your heater will be located will greatly affect the kind of heater you will decide to get.
There are loosely five different types of electric heaters you can choose from. These are the Free-Standing, the Mobile, the Table Top, the Open Pit, and the Wall Mounted heaters. Each heater will have its own set of pros and cons depending on how you’ll use it. Free-standing, mobile, and table top heaters provide you freedom to rearrange furniture, ornaments, and overall setting for every different event that comes your way. Open pit heaters take the “kumbaya’s” away from the mountains and into your homes. Wall Mounted heaters have a distinct touch of elegance and class which will surely leave your guests breathless.
HEAT
You should know how far the heat of a heater can go up to. If you don’t know for sure, ask the salesperson. It is not cost effective to buy electric patio heaters with limited heating capacity for your patio area.
Some heaters transfer heat in a straight line while others cover a certain radius. It is very important that you have a clear idea on where your heater will be placed before thinking about what heater you should buy. Certain heaters were also created to warm people and objects instead of the surrounding air. These heaters are more favorable as no gust or wind will affect the emitted temperature.
SAFETY
Automatic shut off features can instantly turn off the outdoor patio heaters so as to prevent them from overheating. Majority of outdoor heaters have this. To avoid breakout of fire, the heaters are also equipped with tilt shut off buttons. Other than these features, the patio heaters also come with heat adjustment buttons. Some heaters now come with Ingress Proof readings, which will require you to pay more because you are ‘getting more’. You must make sure that they could be replaced when needed because if they can’t, you may well have to buy a new heater.
BUDGET
Wall Mounted Heaters tend to cost about a thousand dollars which is a pretty steep price to pay if you’re only after a cozy December barbeque. Mobile and Free-Standing Heaters are far less expensive and average about two hundred dollars. Just because a heater is more expensive, doesn’t mean it’s a better investment. There are heaters which are packed with an enormous bundle of features yet you will probably never use them in you’re lifetime. The best thing to do is consider all the elements you will need (radial heat capacity, safety features, heat source, etc.) and stick to that. Why bother installing an umbrella into your heater if it’s already marked as waterproof?
Patio heaters come in a diversity of style, shapes and sizes. You can flip through all the catalogues you have and maybe fall in love with a few. However, will they really be the best one for your home? Something that suit other people’s home might not suit yours. Its to you the style and design matters most because you are the one who will be spending the most time in front of it.
