Online Resources for Migraineurs

Numerous migraineurs think they are on their own in their fight against migraines, but they are mistaken. There are a number of support groups where migraine sufferers can find empathy, information, resources and assistance.

The American Council for Headache Education (ACHE)
You can find ACHE online at www.achenet.org. Their aim is to inform patients and health care providers about headaches, including migraines. Their website has a large quantity of details about migraine diagnosis and research as well as an “Ask the Expert” portion staffed by medical doctor volunteers, all of whom are headache specialists.

The World Headache Alliance (WHA)
The WHA’s home on the web is at www.w-h-a.org. The WHA is a truly international organization, bringing together the efforts of 38 headache associations in 26 different countries. This is one of the best sites on the web for contemporary research particulars and innovative updates about migraines and other headache conditions.

Migraine Awareness Group: A National Understanding for Migraineurs (MAGNUM)
Find MAGNUM on the Internet at www.migraines.org. This site has a plethora of fantastic facts and is a superb source for people desiring to get involved in migraine activism.

The Migraine Trust
The Migraine Trust is a wonderful, United Kingdom-based resource that can be found online at www.migrainetrust.org. They are particularly devoted to workplace migraine awareness and activism and put out an information sheet jam-packed with good details.

The Migraine Action Association (MAA)
The MAA’s website at www.migraine.org.uk gives visitors a glimpse at the history of one of the oldest migraine support and advocacy organizations in the world, established in 1958. The site also has a very wide-ranging listing of local chapters and support societies throughout the UK.

Headaches and Migraines at About.com
A large quantity of details and links to lots of other great resources are at http://headaches.about.com. As of March 2007, the site had no guide but the archives are full of good literature.
