By: Ian D Wright

A good parent starts being involved with their kid's lives. Our stressful lives are filled with business, jobs, and other work related things. This means, they may forget to find enough time with their kids.

Effective parents provide their kids enough bonding time. A mother tells her story about her 2 children. In the midst of her stressful schedule, she chose to to cook breakfast for her kids in the morning, and in the evening after her job, she has a discussion with them about their school assignments.

There are examples when her kids' do their project at the same time, and she can see the enthusiasm in their faces to do it at the same time. In that way, she is actively involving herself in her kids lives.

Parents Should include themselves in their kid's likes. In that way, they could demonstrate to the kids that they are also interested in their likes. In classrooms, for example, school staff and teachers do have their family day activity each year.

They have many games and other likes where all the members of the family get to do something and play a unit. You could also have some story telling activities (not that typical bedtime stories) especially on weekends when you have no work.

Attempt to free yourself of extra or unimportant activities that make your lifestyle much too preoccupied with stuff in relation to your job. Remember that forcing your children to do other hobbies without you by their side doesn't aid to increase their awareness and responsibility; instead, you are robbing them of the most important treasure: your undivided time and attention.

Parents must take the chances of creating something for their kid to show them their love. For instance, a parent might cook food for their kid for meals like breakfast, lunch or dinner. This may be the only time when a family get together and parents can initiate in discussing a few events that occurred on that day.

There is no parent without fault, but there can be perfect events that we should tell to our kids. Thus, get involved in your kids lives, don't wait for terrible events to happen that end up with us yelling: "It is too late; I was never there".
