IE Antivirus Removal – Conduct An IE Antivirus Removal Procedure

By: Jim Marshall

IE Antivirus or Internet Explorer Antivirus is another in a long line of rogue anti spyware programs. A rogue anti spyware program is a “fake” spyware removal tool developed to scare you into thinking your computer is severely infected with spyware and viruses. Usually the initial infection can happen through a variety of reasons:

1. Accidental infection through a fake codec installation from a multimedia file. The codec is essentially the seed that plants the spyware infection.

2. You are using Internet Explorer and were infected through a security gap in your ActiveX controls. Internet Explorer is very vulnerable to spyware and viruses because of ActiveX. I recommend using Mozilla FireFox to combat this.

3. You visited or were accidentally redirected to a malicious website that snuck malware on your computer. This is known as “browser hijacking” which is a very popular feature of IE Antivirus.

Although there are certainly others, these seem to be the most popular causes. Once the initial infection happens you will receive “pop up warnings” telling you that your computer has been infected. A link will be provided to install IE Antivirus (you might recognize the orange and white theme of the program).

For those who actually bought the full version be very careful, your identity could be stolen. Conducting an IE Antivirus removal procedure should be done immediately to contain additional infection and malicious activity .

In order to remove IE Antivirus manually you would need to delete about 30-40 malicious files in your hard drive and registry. Removing files from your registry can be very hazardous if you don't know what your doing. If you erase the wrong file you can easily corrupt your hard drive.

That is why I recommend downloading an IE Antivirus remover that can not only delete the dreaded program, but also prevent it from attacking in the future. If you feel you have been infected follow the link below and scan your computer for free to be certain. When detected you can conduct an IE Antivirus removal procedure in just a few minutes!
