If, or more likely when, free radicals enter our bodies, they join up with other molecules. Fortunately antioxidants exist to halt this undesirable process, but our bodies can't manufacture its own antioxidants, and relies on plants to meet the requirement. In these conditions, it is easy to understand why it is imperative to carefully plan our diet, and ensure that we include lots of antioxidant rich fruit and vegetables in our food. Isn't it disturbing, to consider that anybody should need to be continuously told how to stay in peak condition? It seems that although most people are inclined to do almost anything to protect their vehicles from oxidation, or rusting, they seem unwilling to protect themselves, from free radical problems. For sure the car will soon decline if rusting is allowed to take hold, but we too will become "rusty" if free radicals are not held in check. Of course you should take care of your car, but make your foremost priority caring for yourself. A great place to start is with the 5 - 9 fruit and vegetables every day, and the antioxidants they contain. Don't think that you should try to get rid of all free radicals, because it is an over supply that is the real health risk, and if they don't run amok they can help you to remain in good health. But, in your own best interests, you must ensure they are under control, and never allowed to dominate. This is where antioxidant foods can be of invaluable service. It is good to know that antioxidants are readily obtainable to restore the balance, and mop up any surplus free radicals. It 's as easy as ABC. Just think of Apples, Bananas, and Cabbage, because natural antioxidants are found within the 5 - 9 fruit and vegetables, that you are continually being asked to take in your diet. Consider 5 fruits and vegetables as the lowest common denonimator, because all things being equal, you should get more antioxidant defense against free radicals from 6 - 9 portions than the bare minimum! Although most fruits and vegetables contain advantageous antioxidants, there are other foods that should be avoided. You will realize from this brief article, that antioxidants will assist you to remain healthy, by counteracting free radicals. You will require determination to make certain there are sufficient antioxidants included in your diet. If you fail to pay proper attention to what you eat, you will have to put up with the consequences. On the other hand, you should now appreciate, that if free radicals are managed with antioxidants, the possibility of becoming gravely ill is much less.
